The Barbers
Men of the Trade
Three barbers. Sixty-nine years of combined experience. Every cut informed by the one before it.
Thomas Hargrove III
Third Generation · Master Barber
Tommy took the chair at 19 and never left. He learned from his father, who learned from his. When he picks up the scissors, he carries seventy years of muscle memory. He doesn’t take shortcuts, doesn’t rush, and doesn’t do small talk unless you start it. His Classic Cut has been called the best in Midtown — a claim he’d never make himself, but wouldn’t deny either.
Raymond “Ray” Castro
Fade Specialist · Senior Barber
Ray came in as a walk-in in 1998 and asked for a job before he sat down. Tommy said no. Ray came back every Tuesday for six months until Tommy said yes. His fades have been called “architectural” — his word, but earned. He treats every head like a canvas and every clipper guard like a brushstroke. Clients fly in from other states for his work, which he finds amusing.
Marcus Webb
Shave Specialist · Barber
Marcus trained under Tommy for three years before touching a paying customer. Three years of watching, sweeping, sharpening blades, and building the patience that a straight razor demands. He believes the hot lather shave is an art form — the three passes, the hot towels, the silence of concentration. He’s right. Clients book him weeks in advance and cancel other plans to keep their slot.
